Scooter’s Coffee is expanding to Jackson, Tennessee, with two new locations set to open soon.
The drive-thru coffee chain will open shops at 1732 S. Highland Ave. and 2625 North Highland Rd. Both locations will be locally owned and operated by Stan Buncher, Ryan Scoggin and Fisher Van Handel of Pyramid Coffee. The group also manages stores in Millington, Covington, Southaven and Horn Lake as part of a 10-store franchise agreement.
“We’ve been really excited about the customer response,” Buncher told What Now Memphis. “We see our mission as operators of delivering on the Scooter’s brand promise of amazing coffee, amazing people, amazingly fast. Everything we do is kind of in service of the broader mission.”
Buncher, Scoggin and Van Handel were named franchisees of the year by Scooter’s in March.
The S. Highland location is expected to open by the end of July, with the North Highland Road store planned for the fall, Buncher said.
“For us as owners, probably 95% of our time is spent on hiring, training, retaining and incentivizing the very best people we can find,” he said. “That process of building a high-performing team is really rewarding and fun.”
Scooter’s Coffee, founded in 1998 by Don and Linda Eckles in Bellevue, Nebraska, now has more than 800 locations across the United States.
The company offers a wide-ranging menu of hot, iced and blended drinks, as well as smoothies such as Peanut Butter Power and matcha green tea. It also serves sparkling floats, sodas and Red Bull infusions—energy drinks blended with tropical flavors.
Buncher said his favorite and a top seller is the Carmelicious Blender, an espresso drink blended with ice cream and caramel, topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.
Food offerings include breakfast sandwiches, burritos, omelet bites, muffins, cake bites and cinnamon rolls. Limited-time items include Nutter Butter cake bites and bacon cheddar sliders.
According to the company’s website, Scooter’s emphasizes strong relationships with farmers, employees, franchisees, baristas, customers and suppliers to support its continued growth.
