Shirley’s Grill, which will serve a variety of food, including grilled wings, chicken-on-a-stick, lamb and steak, will open next month at 3558 Old Tchulahoma Road in Memphis.

The owner, Derrick Rucker, previously owned other restaurants in the city. He told What Now Memphis that he decided to lease the building because “it’s a nice location for the food I serve.” Rucker may offer beer at the location in the future.

The restaurant is part of the Tchulahoma Plaza, which is directly across the street from the international airport and about 15 minutes from the University of Memphis and downtown. The spot has had other restaurants in the past, including Milam’s Hot Wings and Pizza Buffet, B&N Bar and Grill, and a lounge.

The city has seen several openings of grills in the past few years, including Ashtar Grill on the east side of the city and Northside Grill on North Bellevue Boulevard.
