Big changes are coming to a believed Memphis brewery. Soul & Spirits is preparing to enhance not only its own facade but the entire neighborhood through several planned outdoor renovations, reports Daily Memphian.
The 845 North Main Street institution will be greatly expanding the scope of its presence with the blessing of the Downtown Memphis Commission’s Design Review Board. The planned renovations will allow Soul & Spirits to welcome not only more human visitors but also customers of the four-legged and furry variety.
The 39,000 square foot brewery will be adding a new patio, complete with furniture, a playground for the kiddos, an area for food trucks to rock up to, and a dog park. Co-owner Blair Perry describes the planned improvements in her EIG application as: “We are proposing a fully fenced/gated in new covered beer garden space (entire area will be concrete, except the gravel for food trucks and dog park) and tables, a dog park (astroturf), gravel/chat area for food trucks to pull into. Customers only have access into beer garden from the interior of the brewery; large gate will be opened up for food truck to come in and park (on gray area of plan, to be covered in gravel/chat) and then locked behind; small gate will be an emergency exit gate for customers. “
Soul & Spirits is already a hit in the Memphis brewery scene. Owners Ryan Allen and Blair Perry infuse their beer with a passion for music. The website explains: “Built by two people and their love of beer, music and for each other; together they create, Soul & Spirits, a place where well-crafted, authentic, and diverse beers cultivate a community of craft enthusiasts.”
