It appears Starbucks is nowhere close to slowing down its national expansion; this time, the company is working on a new location in Memphis at 3027 Covington Pike.

The Seattle-based company is in the process of being approved for a new alteration permit for a new store in the former home of Regions Mortgage. Starbucks hopes to add an interior tenant finish to the shell building, as well as install partition walls, new finishes, and fixtures, according to the permit description. The new Starbucks will sit between Taco Bell and Marshalls. There are about 45 locations spread out throughout the metropolitan area.

This location has no exact opening date, considering the permits are still being reviewed. If approved, the company will begin construction shortly, with a likely opening date likely set for the end of the year, possibly early 2024. For those in the area who don’t want to wait this long to get a frappuccino, the next closest location is Raleigh in north-central Memphis. Thankfully for die-heart customers, Starbucks is found throughout the Memphis area.

Starbucks recently announced it is releasing a new reusable drinkware for the summer. The new drinkware is available in a variety of fluorescent colors and patterns at participating Starbucks stores in the U.S. for a limited time. Customers who bring a clean, reusable cup to Starbucks can receive a $.10 discount on their order. Some new products offered this summer include fluorescent reusable cold cups, a fuchsia flow water bottle, and a teal stainless steel tumbler.
