Dora Gomez Reyes hopes to open Super Paletas — a coffee, ice cream and snack shop — at 2465 Whitten Rd. by mid to late spring.
Plans are currently under review to renovate the 1,600-square-feet site. The former nail salon turned ice cream shop will offer a small dining area with seating for 14, but will mostly fulfill to-go orders.
The new shop will be located near the intersection of Reese and Whitten Roads, in Bartlett. The shopping center is also home to Los Reyes Bakery, La Perla Tienda Mexicana and Old Whitten Tavern.
Bartlett is a rapidly growing city adjoining Memphis in the southwest corner of Tennessee, at the heart of a metropolitan region of more than 1,000,000 people. With ready access to I-40 and I-240, as well as proximity to Memphis International Airport and the Renasant Convention Center in Downtown, it is a prime location for new businesses.
Using fresh ingredients, the menu will feature unique popsicles, ice cream, coffee beverages and snacks for hungry patrons.
