Memphis burger lovers, rejoice! America’s most beloved sandwich is making a triumphant return to a restaurant space that once served them daily. Tommy’s Burgers California Style is setting the stage to take over a former Wendy’s, and is bringing the titular dish and Mexican cuisine with it.
The 6146 Macon Road storefront will be Tommy’s third location. The concept announced its new home via a social media post asking for recommendations for future locations, suggesting even more burgers may be on the horizon.
The post did not specify an opening date, saying only that the restaurant will “soon open”. A certificate of occupancy filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development supports this nebulous timeline, suggesting that the 3,900 square foot eatery will be customer-ready in the near future.
Tommy’s Burgers will be serving Mexican food alongside its signature burgers and fries. Future regulars can also look forward to breakfast platters and lunch sandwiches, all prepared freshly and served with a smile. The website explains: “Whether you’re here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can count on fast, quality service.”
