A new social hub is set to open in Collierville.

Unplugged Tabletop Games and More is coming to 942 W. Poplar Ave., offering a space where people can unplug and rediscover face-to-face fun.

Owners Scott Rumptz and Grayson McClure said their goal is to create a welcoming place for people to roll dice, draw cards and build community.

“There really isn’t anything in 45 minutes or really any direction from us that supports the hobby game space, so we thought it would be a really beneficial thing for the community,” Rumptz told What Now Memphis.

The space will feature a library of board and card games, along with a variety of puzzles, including jigsaw, 3D and box puzzles. Guests can also bring their own games to play.

Unplugged will accommodate up to 60 guests at its gaming tables, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on demand, Rumptz said they may introduce table fees and reservations in the future.

“We’re going to have a lot of gaming tables that could be used for cards and board games. We’re also going to have wargaming tables for people to sit and play,” Rumptz said. “We’re looking for anything that isn’t digital related entertainment.”

The venue will offer snacks and drinks tailored to gamers, with more than just typical snack fare, Rumptz said.

In the future, the owners hope to expand the space into a gaming café.

“Long-term, we would love to upgrade the space and incorporate a cafe-type atmosphere along with it,” Rumptz said. “That’s the end goal game plan.”

While an official opening date hasn’t been announced, they plan to debut the new gaming spot this summer.
