A new Venezuelan food joint will open at 7395 US Highway 64, according to a certificate of occupancy filed with the city of Memphis.

La Cocina de Nayeth, owned by Nayeth Palmar, began in 2019 as a pick-up and delivery service of Venezuelan fare following her husband’s accident.

“In these five years, every day has been an opportunity to bring you the real taste of Maracaibo,” Palmar said in a social media post. Maracaibo is a city in Venezuela.

This will be the company’s first brick-and-mortar location.

According to La Cocina’s social media, Palmar currently offers a variety of traditional Venezuelan food, including arepas, carne asada, tequeños and empanadas.
