A Memphis burger institution is on the move. Wimpy’s Burgers and Fries will be closing the doors of its current Barlett home in late November, but fans needn’t fear. When one door closes for Wimpy’s another will be opening less than a mile away, reports Commercial Appeal.
Wimpy’s will be shutting the doors at its current 7424 U.S. 64, Suite 121 home on November 26, taking a moment to enjoy the holiday, then commencing the move to the restaurant’s new digs. Wimpy’s will begin serving its delicious, made-to-order cuisine at 7124 U.S. 64, Suite 101 in early December. The burger joint will be taking over the space that Memphis Mojo Café vacated in July.
Jacob Crafton, Wimpy’s CEO, announced the move via a Facebook post on November 7. He explains that while the space is smaller, he is enthusiastic about the possibilities of the new location, saying: “While this space is half the square footage of what we are used to operating in and will present a few challenges, it also provides some great opportunities. We will utilize the drive up window for pick up orders. We will be building a very nice patio on the front of the space. And yes, we are getting a brand spanking new HVAC system installed!!”
Wimpy’s fans already know that the restaurant strives to serve incredibly fresh and delectable burgers, however new regulars are in for a treat. The eatery refuses to cut corners or sacrifice quality; as Crafton states in his post, “If you’ve never been to Wimpy’s or haven’t been in a while, please come check us out. While grass fed burgers are our signature item, we have a menu full of tasty food. And please remember, we cook everything fresh to order. No fast food here.”
