A new restaurant has received its license from the Mississippi Department of Health and plans to open this summer.
Phoenix Bar and Grill will open at 5105 Interstate 55 North Frontage Road in Jackson, taking over the former Ish Grill & Bar location.
Owner Nkemdili Lewis, who also owns Parlour Room, told What Now Memphis the new spot will expand on her existing concept. Unlike Parlour Room, which caters to a 21-and-over crowd, Phoenix will serve guests 25 and older, aiming to create a more elevated setting.
Lewis, who was born and raised in Jackson, is “very excited about adding something new for the city.”
The menu will feature lunch, dinner and a late-night selection. Dishes like Cajun pasta and rice bowls—with chicken, shrimp, salmon, steak or a combination, topped with house-made cheese sauce—will carry over from the Parlour Room.
Phoenix will also offer signature cocktails and a full-service bar.
“We’ll have a patio, we’ll have two bars on the inside and a cigar bar as well,” Lewis said. “It’s just going to be a really cool vibe.”
Lewis is finalizing permits and plans to open Phoenix Bar and Grill by mid-August.
