What Now has reported recently on several planned South Florida locations for local elevated fast casual burger chain BurgerFi, including at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport—adding up to two locations at that airport. To these can be added another, this time in Wellington, at 2535 South State Road 7.

What Now reached out to a representative of Wellington2Burger Inc. on Friday. The representative said no official opening date has been yet for the Wellington location. They declined to comment further at this time.

BurgerFi offers a menu of elevated fast food choices, with burgers ranging from the BurgerFi Cheeseburger to the Swag (Spicy Wagyu) Burger, with two wagyu+brisket blend patties, charred jalapeños, candied ghost pepper bacon, sweet tomato relish, Pepper Jack cheese, and hot steak sauce. A selection of plant-based burgers completes the picture.

Founded in 2011 in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, BurgerFi had grown explosively ever since, getting a big boost last year, when it made a deal to acquire Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and Wings, adding 61 restaurants to its total, which will soon approach 200. The chain is growing all over the East Coast, but it’s clear that BurgerFi isn’t forgetting its South Florida roots.
