If you have a chicken salad obsession and you live in Fort Lauderdale, your wait for an amazing sandwich has almost ended.
Chicken Salad Chick, the restaurant that puts the “chick” in chicken salad, has entered into franchise agreements that would grow the fast casual chain throughout Florida, reports QSR Magazine.
The franchisee that will ultimately bring Chicken Salad Chick to Fort Lauderdale is South Carolina-based The Foundry Group. A LinkedIn post by Chicken Salad Chick confirms the news, adding that The Foundry Group will also bring several restaurants to Central Florida, bringing its total restaurant commitment to one dozen throughout the Sunshine State. At the time, no Fort Lauderdale locations have been announced, and a timeline has not been shared.
The franchise group has a number of brands under its umbrella in addition to Chicken Salad Chick including Cafe Strudel, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Ember, and the Divine Cinnamon Roll Deli.
Chicken Salad Chick is also planning to grow in other Florida regions, especially Florida’s west and northeast coasts through similar arrangements, though nothing has been formally announced.
Founded in 2008 by Stacy and Kevin Brown in Auburn, Alabama, Chicken Salad Chick is a fast casual restaurant dedicated exclusively to fresh made chicken salad. The restaurant offers more than a dozen different chicken salads. Guests can chose their favorite chicken salad in a sandwich, on a platter, or as a to-go “quick chick”. The restaurant also offers pimento cheese, egg salad, soups, salads, and more.
Today, there are more than 300 Chicken Salad Chicks in 22 states, with plans for continued growth in the Southeast and the Midwest.
