With locations all over the Sunshine State, Duck Donuts is continuing to build its presence in the South Florida market. Eight Florida stores are currently listed on the brand’s website, and at least one more is coming soon: a new Duck Donuts launching in Royal Palm Beach, at 11051 Southern Blvd Suite 200, in the Southern Palm Crossing shopping center.
Behind the new location are two lifelong friends and first time franchisees, entrepreneur Kevin Harris and entrepreneur/financial advisor Spencer Carpenter.
“We’ve known each other since we were four and two,” Kevin Harris told What Now on Saturday. “This is our first business together. We always had the interest in franchising, and we were looking for different opportunities. But if we were going to get involved with something, we wanted it to be something we really believed in.”
That something, Harris says, was Duck Donuts.
“We instantly fell in love with it. Everything is made to order, so the donuts don’t sit out all day and get cold and stale. You order it and make it on the spot, and there a lot of choices for how to customize and enjoy it differently. That’s a big differentiator between us and the others in the market.”
The Royal Palm Beach location is working to open before year’s end, Harris said, and while there are no firm plans established yet, the local entrepreneur says he and his business partner are interested in looking at ways to bring the Duck Donuts concept into West Palm Beach too.
“The Palm Beach market is growing, with a lot of families moving into the county, and this is the perfect kid-friendly option,” Harris said.
