Soul food restaurant Flava’s and Ribs Miami is preparing for an opening. The restaurant, which has attracted attention from all over the country, will (re)launch at 17490 SW 104th Ave., Unit B.

“BEST OF MIAMI® EAT & DRINK 2018 BEST SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT,” begins a description of the restaurant provided to Google Maps. “When it comes to soul food, Miami rarely gets as much attention as Southern cities such as Atlanta, Charleston, and Nashville, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t kitchens in the Magic City dishing out proper feel-good Southern fare. You just have to know where to find it. And if you’re looking for serious soul food, you need to go to Flava’s to get that good good.”

What Now confirmed news of the reopening with owner Wilbur Bell on Tuesday. Bell was not immediately available to discuss the matter further. Much remains unknown but the brand’s launch, but one things for sure: more great soul food is coming.

“The shrimp and grits plate ($10.99) comes with a half-dozen tender crustaceans served on a bowl of grits that is neither too mealy nor too soupy and includes a bit of the oil and seasoning from cooking the shrimp,” the description adds. “Make sure you also try the chicken and waffles ($9.99) — spicy poultry never tasted so good.”

Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
