Back in the summer of 2022, beloved Miami steakhouse the Hereford Grill announced that it would close its doors.
“After many years of providing a high-quality service, we have decided to close our doors and begin a new rebuilding process to update and diversify the Hereford Grill Miami area for the benefit of our patrons,” said the restaurant’s announcement posted on Instagram.
Only a few months shy of three years later, the restaurant is preparing to reopen, now under the ownership of Erasmo Da Silva, owner of Coral Gables restaurant Zucca and Da Silva Hospitality.
Plan review paperwork was submitted by Hereford Grill, LLC for Hereford Grill Restaurant, opening in the same address, 782 NW 42nd Ave Suite 5. What Now reached out to Da Silva on Wednesday to inquire about the opening. Da Silva was not immediately available for comment.
“The 250-seat restaurant splits between indoor and outdoor spaces, with a private dining room for events,” says a description of the reborn restaurant in coverage by the Miami New Times. “The kitchen centers on an open-fire cooking setup where cuts from Argentina and U.S. farms hit the flames.”
“The Hereford Grill promises a menu that showcases these highest quality ingredients with dishes both familiar and new to steakhouse diners,” adds coverage by Food & Beverage Magazine. “Menu highlights guests can expect when Hereford Grill opens its doors include Cravings (starters) such as Short Rib Croquettes with a Romesco sauce, Empanadas, and Beef Tartare with fried sweet potato strings; and seasonally driven selections From the Garden like Roasted beetroot salad with stracciatella, pistachio, basil and balsamic and Endive Salad with fried capers, Pecorino cheese, toasted peanuts and lemon anchovy dressing.”
