Founded in May Pen, Jamaica in 1980, Juici Patties has grown into a large chain with more than 60 locations on the island—and it’s recently begun to open restaurants in the United States. With Juici Patties locations already up and running in Hollywood and Lauderhill, the chain is currently at work on at least seven more.

One of these, according to a recently submitted plan review, will open in Miramar, at 11735 City Hall Promenade, across the street from City Hall.

What Now confirmed news of the launch with franchisee Annette Kidd on Monday. Kidd declined to comment on the opening at this time.

“If you’re new to Juici Patties and the delicious, island goodness that is ‘the Jamaican patty’ you’re in for a treat!” says the Juici Patties website. “It’s a flaky, golden, handmade pastry filled with traditionally seasoned & savory Jamaican beef or chicken. Baked to Juici perfection!”

The brand’s famous patties come in varieties like Chicken, Shrimp, Beef, Vegetable, and Ackee. The menu also features Loaves stuffed with beef, vegetables, or Callaloo (leafy green amaranth with onion, garlic, tomatoes, thyme, and hot peppers). Also on offer are Fried Chicken & Chips, Ackee & Saltfish, and, for dessert, banana bread and carrot cake.
