Gioia Hospitality Group, the people that brought Daniel’s Steakhouse to Fort Lauderdale and Miami, is opening another restaurant that’s sure to be a stunner.
La Sponda is opening this summer, at Vita at Grove Isle (4 Grove Isle Drive) in Coconut Grove. The restaurant’s website states that La Sponda is opening summer 2026, although a specific date has not yet been announced.
Named La Sponda after the Italian translation of “the shore”, La Sponda will take cues from coastal Italy with classic dishes served with a side of lush waterfront views. The restaurant, which overlooks Biscayne Bay, will feature interiors created by MBDS Design Studio.
The menu hasn’t yet been released, but expect a selection of Italian items that are fresh, with plenty of seafood dishes to match the restaurant’s coastal flair. La Sponda will be open for brunch, lunch, and dinner and promises to be a place for both family get-togethers and romantic dinners.
