Longtime friends and Chicago-based chef-restaurateurs Takashi Yagihashi and Jonathan Fox are collaborating on a new Japanese restaurant opening by the water in Boca Raton. Kasumi will launch in a 2,600-square-foot space on the ground floor of the Waterstone Resort & Marina Boca Raton, Curio Collection by Hilton, at 999 East Camino Real, according to coverage by the South Florida Business Journal.
Chef Yagihashi is a Michelin-starred chef (for his Chicago restaurant Takashi) and has appeared on TV shows like Top Chef and Iron Chef, the Business Journal says. For Kasumi, he’s partnering up with chef and restaurateur Jonathan Fox, who brings expertise from “35 years of culinary experience, including the launch of over 20 successful dining concepts.”
A statement from the two chefs describes the restaurant as “our tribute to the art of Japanese cuisine, reimagined through a lens of modern innovation and boundless creativity. We invite all of Boca Raton and beyond to join us on this exciting culinary adventure.”
What Now reached out to Jonathan Fox on Thursday to inquire about the details of the Kasumi menu. Fox was not immediately available for comment. Kasumi is expected to launch this fall.
