With roughly 200 locations across 22 states, açai bowl chain Playa Bowls is continuing to take over South Florida, with 17 locations currently operating in the area. Franchisee Roxanne Vogel, who has several Playa Bowls shops in the area, is part of the expansion. Vogel is opening a new Playa Bowls at 4462 Weston Road in Weston.

“People know us and appreciate the fact that our menu items are crafted from the freshest, purest ingredients,” Vogel told What Now on Friday. “Everything is organic, our açai is not full of added sugars or artificial sweeteners—it gives somebody who wants something healthier an opportunity to have a great, extensive menu.”

The healthy bowls are made with bases like açai, pitaya, coconut, chia pudding, and more. They come in varieties like Pura Vida (Pure acai topped with granola, blueberry, strawberry, honey), Hemp (Kale blend topped with granola, banana, blueberry, hemp seeds, agave), and the bowl Vogel says is by far the most popular: the Nutella Bowl (Playa Acai topped with granola, banana, strawberry, coconut flakes, Nutella drizzle). The menu also features beverages like Smoothies and Juices, plus a selection of coffee drinks.

The Weston location will offer an all-kosher menu, Vogel adds. “For anybody who follows the kosher or halal diet, it will offer them something in a neighborhood where there aren’t a lot of choices.”

The Weston location is expected to open later this spring. You can keep up with the opening by following @playabowlswestonfl on Instagram.
