Embarcadero 41, the beloved Peruvian Nikkei concept offering a menu “which combines Japanese food and techniques with the creativity and explosive flavors of the ingredients of Peruvian cuisine,” has expanded to four locations in South Florida, with restaurants in Sunrise, Coral Springs, Boca Raton, and Pembroke Pines. Now, the team behind Embarcadero 41 is preparing to open a new cafe in Coral Springs.

Downtown Espresso will open at 3111 N University Drive, Suite 111, near Embarcadero’s Coral Springs location, according to a recently filed plan review.

Owner Juan Carlos Fernandez confirmed news of a cafe opening with What Now on Monday.

“We’re going to be offering coffee, small bites, pastries, sandwiches, and some desserts,” Fernandez said.

In other words, you can expect plenty of familiar cafe food and drink offerings—but the restaurant’s specialty will be its quiches, Fernandez added.

“We have two or three quiches that will be killer. You’ll see.”

That’s all the information available about Downtown Espresso for now, but stay tuned for more news as the details are revealed.

And in the meantime, you can check out one of Embarcadero 41’s four locations, and follow @embarcadero41_florida.
