Mousse Buvette, a new wine bar and cocktail lounge, is set to open at 39-A Rue Laval in the heart of the Vieux-Hull (Old Hull) district of Gatineau.
The new concept promises to offer a carefully curated wine list, expertly crafted cocktails, and a selection of comforting dishes meant to be shared in an inviting, lively atmosphere. Co-owner Natacha Gervais-Perron tells What Now Montreal that while they anticipated opening in early 2025, they will open in about a month or so. An exact opening date could not be provided, and a menu for the concept has yet to be revealed. However, it is known that Mousse Buvette will take reservations once it opens.
The new restaurant will do great in the Vieux-Hull area, which is known for its historic charm and rich cultural heritage, and is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The district, with its cobblestone streets and beautiful old buildings, is home to a mix of cozy cafés, bistros, and vibrant bars, making it the perfect spot for Mousse Buvette to establish its presence. Just a short walk from the Ottawa River and a stone’s throw away from bustling downtown Gatineau, Vieux-Hull has become a hotbed for culinary creativity and nightlife.
Mousse Buvette’s focus on providing an experience that blends relaxation with excitement aligns well with the district’s growing reputation as a hub for excellent food, drinks, and entertainment. As they prepare to open, they’re already building anticipation through their social media presence, offering sneak peeks of the upcoming venue and menu.
“At Mousse, we welcome you with a twinkle in our eye,” according to the company’s website. “A wine list as classic as it is surprising. Cocktails made according to the rules of the art, or reinvented without too much fuss. Comforting dishes to share, if you’re so inclined. An intimate yet always festive atmosphere. See you soon.”
