A brand new hotel, Sonolux Hotel, is getting ready to make its debut in early summer in Montreal at 225 St-Jacques, bringing with it two one-of-a-kind restaurants.

SonoLux is a project by Epik Collection, a hotel group dedicated to sustainable and meaningful initiatives, partnering with innovative collaborators who share its creative vision, according to the company’s website. The group is preparing to introduce this new hotel and its adjoining restaurant concepts: LUMI and Subterra, which are expected to open in early June 2025. On top of providing guests with world-class dining experiences, Sonolux Hotel reimagines the traditional hotel experience, blending art, architecture, and immersive design. The upcoming hotel describes itself as not a hotel with art, but an art hotel.

While the hotel will be one-of-a-kind, the dining options are even more anticipated. LUMI, located in the SonoLux lobby, is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience. Shifting projections and curated music set the mood, making it a place to relax, try creative tasting dishes, and sip on custom cocktails designed by expert mixologists. The food, drinks, and the surrounding exhibition keep things fresh and engaging.

As the night goes on, guests are encouraged to head down to Subterra, an exclusive lounge, to cap off their evening in style. This other concept is an exclusive spot where music flows and cocktails come to life. Though it’s by invitation only, it’s open to anyone looking for connection and creativity. Here, you can indulge in delicious desserts, digestifs, and signature cocktails, all while soaking in the intimate audiophile vibe with curated music and regular DJ performances.

“The culinary experience at SonoLux unfolds across two distinct spaces, where art and flavors elevate every moment,” according to the company’s website. “Inspired by Japanese philosophy, deeply rooted in respect, mindfulness, and harmony, it emphasizes nourishment, gratitude, aesthetics, and the balance of flavors, textures, and seasonal ingredients. Our menu will feature dishes as visually striking as they are delicious, paired with bold cocktails designed to enhance the creative atmosphere. Between a carefully curated musical selection and immersive artworks, every detail is crafted to make you feel, taste, and experience in perfect harmony.”
