51st Deli got its start in the Nations in 2018 and added another location in West End in 2023. Now, owner Carim Yafai is expanding, with a new location heading to 7104 Charlotte Pike.
Recently filed permits indicate that the site used to be a Wendy’s. Yafai told What Now Nashville that the space is about 2,700 square feet.
“51st Deli is just doing really great in this town. Everyone loves it,” Yafai said. “Everyone likes our servers, the freshness we give and the speed and process of making orders. We would like to take this brand everywhere in the city if we can.”
The interior will have elements similar to the “O.G. location,” Yafai said. He tries to keep the brand consistent across all locations.
Since it is a second-generation restaurant space, Yafai expects construction to go smoothly. The team is targeting a May opening.
51st Deli offers menu items like breakfast burritos and sandwiches, bagels, tacos, burgers and signature sandwiches. It also offers a coffee menu and a juice bar.
Customers can expect to see more expansion from 51st Deli soon. Yafai has ambitious goals for the brand throughout the city, and shared that he plans to open another location later this year, though he declined to share further details on that project at this time.
“I’m trying to go everywhere in Nashville — that’s including Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, Brentwood, Franklin and the other side of Nashville,” Yafai said.
