When Burger + Grain opened late last year in The Nations, it had been teasing customers for months with appetizing photos posted on Instagram, though little information was announced early on about the concept until it formally opened. Now almost six months into operations, Burger + Grain has solidified its reputation as one of the neighborhood’s best locally owned, high-end dining spots, perfect for celebrating special occasions or an elevated date night.
Though the establishment focuses on its steak, burgers, and a robust whiskey menu, it has accommodating options for just about anyone. Gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options are denoted on its menus for easy ordering, paired with attentive and caring service from knowledgeable waitstaff.
Burger + Grain takes every dish seriously. Even its sides and appetizers are masterfully crafted with house-made bread, seasonal accouterments, and locally sourced ingredients.
Its ethos as a business is catered to the customer’s experience, which is felt as soon as you step foot through the door. The restaurant’s ambiance and elevated interiors are expertly done in partnership with Brentwood-based E+H Architects, who curated the restaurant’s design work. The 4,000-square-foot space has 150 seats, each with a view of the centralized open kitchen.
Burger + Grain also offers whiskey tastings and a special on Wednesdays where some of the best whiskey is $4 a glass.
Experiencing the restaurant for the first time compares to dining at some of Nashville’s oldest and most well-established restaurants, thanks to owner Chris Payne, who opened the concept after a 20+ career in hospitality experience with Zoe’s Kitchen, Sam Fox’s Fox Restaurant Concepts and Andy Marshall’s A. Marshall Hospitality.
The restaurant also offers weekend brunch starting at 11am Friday through Sunday. Burger + Grain should be on everyone’s list for an elevated experience and an overall stunning meal.
