Laura Axelson has been operating her local produce-driven meal-delivery business Dinner Belle since 2016. She and her team have operated out of a shared commercial kitchen since then, and now they are ready to open up a brick-and-mortar location this winter at 8120 Highway 100.

Axelson told What Now Nashville that they will offer prepared meals and grab-and-go for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and she plans to offer catering and cooking classes.

“I’m excited about connecting with our community,” Axelson said. “I feel like after the pandemic, people really crave to have connections and go places again, and actually have more face time with people.”

The design will feature a front lobby area with Moroccan-style terra cotta floors and an open kitchen. Local products will also be available for sale.

“There will be cute plants,” she said. “It’ll be really fresh and happy, and when you walk in, you’ll be able to look directly into the open kitchen.”

The menu will be seasonal, starting with homey, comforting classics like Shepherd’s pie, pot pie and Caesar salad, all featuring local ingredients.

“I really believe in what we’re doing — how we make local ingredients the star of all of our meals,” Axelson said. “We try to make meals that give people energy and nourishment, and I’m excited to bring it to more people.”

They are currently in the process of renovations and Axelson said they hope to be open later in February.
