Good Time Design, helmed by Ty Hauter, is bringing another concept to the Nashville market. Retro bar Happy Does will open in June at 1921 Division St., according to the Nashville Business Journal.
Happy Does has one existing location in San Diego that Good Time Design opened in 2022. A nod to Kenny Chesney’s song “Happy Does,” the bar offers an indoor-outdoor bar space for people to gather. The menu features chicken tenders, hot dogs and burgers.
“Offering power-packed drinks, addicting chicken tenders and everyone’s favorite soundtracks, Happy Does is a get along hang for all,” the Happy Does website states. “Turn up your day drinking on the sunny dog-friendly patio or tune into karaoke and dancing inside. Happy Does features a Game Hall equipped with a pickleball court and backyard games, a stage for live music and casual American favorites. At Happy Does, leave your worries at the door and come for good vibes and happy times.”
The Nashville spot will feature karaoke, DJs and games like pool tables and ping-pong, according to the Business Journal.
Hauter launched the hospitality group in California in 2006, building out concepts such as Moonshine Flats, The Deck and Lucky’s Lunch Counter. Good Time Design already has a strong portfolio in the Nashville area, including Coal Town Pizza in Franklin, Cerveza Jack’s and Sidecar Bar. Just this month, Good Time Design opened a new bar, Odie’s, in partnership with Old Dominion. Earlier this year, the hospitality group also purchased the former Hopsmith Tavern space, with plans for a yet-to-be-revealed concept.
