Fast-growing breakfast chain Keke’s Breakfast Cafe is coming to a Publix-anchored mall in Donelson, according to a recently filed permit. The location, 2278 Lebanon Pike, was formerly occupied by Vittles, a restaurant spot known for home-style southern meals. However, it closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The menu of Keke’s Breakfast Cafe features traditional breakfast items such as eggs, waffles, French toast, omelets and pancakes. They also serve a lunch menu, which they offer from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. It features sandwiches, wraps, burgers and salads.

Brothers Kevin and Keith Mahen founded Keke’s in 2006 in Orlando. Since then, the popular chain has expanded across Florida, with more than 50 locations across the state. The chain also has two locations in Tennessee — one in Hendersonville and one in Gallatin. They also plan to open a location in Sunnyvale, California, according to their website.

This is not the only Keke’s location that appears to be coming to Nashville. What Now Nashville reported on another location coming to 404 11th Ave. N in Capitol View, according to filed permits.

David Schmidt became the president of the company in 2022 shortly after Denny’s acquired Keke’s Breakfast Cafe.

What Now Nashville has reached out to Schmidt for more information on the expansion plans for Keke’s but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on this location’s opening.
