The popular fast-casual chicken finger chain Raising Cane’s recently celebrated the milestone of opening its first Nashville location at 36 White Bridge Pike on May 31, and they’re not stopping there. On the heels of the success of its grand opening, two additional locations will be coming to the Nashville area in the next year, including a downtown location that will be Cane’s Tennessee flagship store at 212 Broadway, as well as a future location in Franklin at a yet-to-be-built site, according to the Nashville Business Journal.

Although an official grand opening date is not yet known for these next two locations, the process is currently in the construction stage, on track for 212 Broadway to open by 2024. It’s unknown at this point when the Franklin location may open its doors, however, it’s likely a few months to a year after the Lower Broadway flagship store opens.

Founded in 1996, Raising Cane’s is a company-owned platform rather than franchised and has just over 600 locations nationwide. Its business model differs from the typical fried chicken joint that one might expect.

Exclusively serving chicken fingers has been the brand’s foundation since the beginning, when founder Todd Graves was determined to create the concept on his own after the business plan received the lowest grade in a college class because the professor said it wouldn’t work and every bank rejected his loan applications, according to the Raising Cane’s website. Graves didn’t take no for an answer, and singlehandedly raised enough money to open the first Raising Cane’s, named after his Golden Retriever, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

27 years later, Raising Cane’s has become a household name and is often revered for its special Cane’s Sauce that accompanies each chicken finger.

Its Southern-inspired menu also offers crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas Toast, sweet tea, lemonade, and fountain drinks.

Customers can keep up to date with the upcoming Cane’s locations on its website, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
