A new bodega and coffee shop concept called The Den is heading to 307 N. 16th St., filed permits indicate. The permit describes the concept as a bodega with boutique grocery and retail items, as well as a cafe serving coffee, ice cream and baked goods.
One side of the building at the address will have a coffee counter that will serve soft serve, brewed coffee and tea, and a small selection of pastries, according to The Den’s website. Other items in the market will include packaged foods, produce, wine and cold drinks.
The other side of the building will act as a shop, featuring select apparel, home essentials, gifts and goods.
The Den will be run by two sisters who are Nashville natives, according to the website. Andrea Serkin, the marketing strategist at Rudy’s Jazz Room, is listed as the tenant.
“The Den is our take on a modern-day general store and reflects two of our favorite things — a classic corner bodega and the one-of-a-kind shops we frequented when we lived together in New York,” the website states. “We aim to be a neighborhood community stop providing some everyday conveniences, treats and necessities.”
An opening timeline has not been released, but the website and Instagram page advertises the spot as “coming soon.” What Now Nashville could not reach a representative for The Den for comment.
