Marreo, it’s time to slide back thru as Smalls Sliders officially reopens on November 20 at 10:00 a.m. local standard time. The only West Bank location of the industry-disrupting cheeseburger slider brand is located at 1635 Barataria Boulevard, on the corner of Barataria and Patriot Street.
To celebrate the reopening, the first 100 guests at the Marrero Can will receive a pair of Smorange slides. The grand opening festivities will also feature a special check presentation and ribbon-cutting ceremony with representatives from the Can’s Smalls Town Hero, Luis and Chance of Café Hope, an organization that provides vocational and youth-focused services to young adults throughout the West Bank of New Orleans. Café Hope has empowered hundreds by offering job training, mentorship, and opportunities for personal growth that help build brighter futures within the New Orleans community.
The Marreo Can originally opened in May 2023, but closed for six months following a fire. Now, local owner Rick Robards is bringing Smalls back with a fully rebuilt team and a renewed commitment to the community.
“This Can has always been about more than just great food. It’s about building something that’s part of the local community,” said Robards in a statement. “I was drawn to Smalls for its simplicity, its bold flavor, and the leadership behind the brand. The support and enthusiasm we’ve felt from the local community since announcing our reopening has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome guests back with fresh sliders and familiar faces.”
Smalls Sliders has taken the nation by storm, and Marrero is next to join the Smaucy revolution ignited by the brand’s fan-favorite menu. Specializing in fresh, cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders—small in size, big in taste—Frequent Sliders know they’re getting a quality product at Smalls Sliders. The menu also features fries, shakes, queso and Smalls Sliders signature Smauce®. Smalls isn’t just known for its iconic menu; it is also spotted from miles away thanks to its Smorange Can, uniquely made from shipping containers, featuring streamlined ordering through the walk-up window or drive-thru.
