A new bar is slated to open in downtown Baton Rouge, according to a construction permit filed with the city. The upcoming bar is located right off North Boulevard Town Square on 151 3rd St., in the suite where Danny’s Dive Bar is currently located and operating.
The construction permit for the space was filed under Remi DeMatteo, who confirmed that the permit is for a new concept in the space. DeMatteo has a long history in Baton Rouge spanning across two decades. He was a general manager at The Bulldog, Baton Rouge for years before opening Hayride Scandal in 2018. He opened Pelican to Mars a few years later in the Garden District in 2023.
Details about the bar itself are sparse; the permit simply lists the project as a “bar & grill.”
