Bacchanal Wine in the Bywater has become a local legend for its wine selection and the backyard party vibes in its courtyard. The owners are seemingly looking to repeat a feat of epic casualness with another concept designed to target the brain’s comfort zones. According to a post on Instagram, owners Adrian Mendez and Joaquin Rodas are planning to open a late-night cocktail spot called NightBloom at 3100 St. Claude. In a help wanted ad on Craigslist, the bar said it is currently hiring staff and looking for bartenders who “like a fine beverage and also like the feel of a neighborhood hub.”

The ad also says NightBloom’s small staff will be focused on creating exciting, easy-to-drink cocktails. The bar will not provide its own food, but it will host pop-ups. What Now New Orleans reached out multiple times for more details but did receive a response.

For its part, Bacchanal has gotten national attention for democratizing an impressive wine program with backyard party vibes. In fact, Bacchanal’s casual, self-serve model has been replicated countless times by other wine bars around the country. Only time will tell if NightBloom’s concept will have such a far-reaching influence.
