After getting a massive popularity boost from TikToker Keith Lee, the Dr. FeelGood smoothie shop in Baton Rouge is preparing to open a second location in the city at Airline Highway and Highland Road. Owner Heather Smith recently told What Now New Orleans that the second location is slated to open later this year, in the fall or winter.

“We always wanted a second location,” Smith said. “We just never thought it would come so fast.”

With more than 16 million followers on TikTok, Lee recently took a culinary tour of Baton Rouge and boosted multiple local businesses with posts to his followers. When he stopped at Dr. FeelGood, Smith was the only employee on the payroll. Lee was so impressed by the smoothies he tried during his visit he suggested that Smith was about to get a lot busier should hire more staff. Soon, Dr. FeelGood had lines out the door. Lee would later favorably compare the smoothies he had at Dr. FeelGood to much pricier versions at the iconic smoothie shop Erewhon.

Currently taking the newfound fame “one day at a time”, Smith said more Dr. FeelGood locations are being planned for Lafayette and other areas around Acadiana, potentially opening in 2025.
