After using Coolinary as a trial run of sorts, Boucherie in Carrollton will close for renovations for the rest of the summer so that it can relaunch in the fall as primarily a tasting menu restaurant. According to a story from NOLA.com, the restaurant will set prices for its tasting menus that are more approachable than the typical tasting menu, which is considered to be a fine dining format. A small a la carte menu will be available alongside the tasting menu. Chef-owner Nathanial Zimet said he’s also developing a casual dining concept relaunch for Boucherie’s sister restaurant Bourrée, which is located next door. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more details.
The transition to a tasting menu marks the latest culinary era for Zimet. After an early career that included a stint at Commander’s Palace, Zimet launched the Que Crawl food truck just after Hurricane Katrina. In 2008, he opened Boucherie as an approachable chef-driven concept.
