After getting his start in Iberville Parish and building his brand from Baton Rouge to Houston, Lawrick Bosley is preparing to open Blazin Cajun 2 — a Cajun soul food spot specializing in seafood bags and boiled meat. When it opens this summer at 4886 Plank Rd. in Baton Rouge, Blazin Cajun 2 will also offer stuffed peppers, chicken wings, burgers, and a full bar. However, Bosley told What Now New Orleans that he’s most known for his seafood boil bags, which include snow crab, half a pound of shrimp, corn, potato, sausage, egg and a signature garlic butter sauce.

Bosley started Blazin Cajun selling plate lunches and meals out of his apartment in Plaquemine. He said he saw an opportunity to meet a demand that wasn’t being met in the Iberville Parish town by delivering food and staying open late.

“Where I’m from, Plaquemine, Louisiana, everything closes early,” he said. “But you know, there’s a lot of people there that like to eat late at night, so I would be a convenience for those people.”

After expanding to a pop-up operation and a few small brick-and-mortar spots, Bosley is looking to put down more permanent roots for Blazin Cajun in Baton Rouge. He’s also enlisted the help of his mother, who will manage the new location.

“At the beginning of this year, we locked in that location on Plank Road and we’ve been working and trying to put everything together,” he said. “My mom will be kind of at the face of this location. I’m just glad to be able to start something that inspires my family members to get involved and believe in my vision.”
