The Toasted Yolk is one of the fastest-growing casual brunch restaurant chains in the U.S., but it currently doesn’t have a location open in Louisiana. That will change in April when the Texas-based Toasted Yolk opens a location in Covington.
According to a post on the official website, the April grand opening celebration will include the chance to win free food for a year, free churro donuts with purchase and $4.50 mimosas. The company will also be donating 10 percent of all sales to charity. The restaurant made a name for itself in Texas and the southeast U.S. by offering scratch-made brunch items made with locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant also has a full-service bar that focuses on mimosas, Bloody Marys and other brunch-style cocktails. According to the company, the number of locations has doubled in the past 24 months and the plan is to continue this path of aggressive growth. A second Louisiana location is slated to open in Lafayette later this year.
