Covington-Based Bakery Opening a NOLA Café in Mid-City

Barrio Bites will feature both sweet and savory treats

The owners of the Covington-based Elizabeth’z Bakery are preparing to open a café in Mid-City at 4201 Canal St. According to a permit filing with the City of New Orleans, Barrio Bites Mid-City will offer fresh-baked breads, desserts, and pastries. The cafe will also have breakfast dishes and lunch options. Drink options include coffee, juices, and soft drinks. Snowballs will be available during the warm weather. Elizabeth’z Bakery has been a vendor at the Abita Springs Art and Farmers Market for the past three years. Some of the bakery’s featured treats on social media include Dubai chocolate bars, donuts, cupcakes, and cookies.
