Dakar NOLA Owners Bringing New Life to the Former Mat & Naddie’s

Senegal NOLA will be a cozy restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating

The owners behind the highly successful Dakar NOLA are planning a second restaurant in Carrollton in the former Mat & Naddie’s at 937 Leonidas St. According to permit documents filed with the City of New Orleans, the restaurant will be called Senegal NOLA, and it will include a small bar, an indoor dining room with seating for 28 guests, and an outdoor patio with seating for 32 guests. According to a Louisiana state business filing, Dakar NOLA owners Sergine Mbaye and Effie Richardson are the folks behind Senegal NOLA. The former restaurant was recently named to the inaugural North America’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Rated at No.6, Dakar NOLA was called the best restaurant in the USA South.
