Originally a coffee cart from the Pacific Northwest, Dutch Bros is known for its range of hot and cold drinks, including coffee drinks. The chain is preparing to open its first Louisiana location in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus on West Lee Drive.

While it’s the company’s first foray into The Pelican State, the new Dutch Bros location will be a modest 950-square-foot, drive-thru-only operation, according to documents filed with the City of Baton Rouge Planning and Zoning Commission. The planning board is preparing to take up a proposal for the location’s construction during its March 17 meeting. The construction of a Dutch Bros location would make this part of Baton Rouge coffee-saturated, with the immediate area also preparing to welcome new locations for the popular 7 Brew and Dunkin Donuts chains.
