The Northshore dining and drinking scene has become more sophisticated in recent years, and the newest restaurant to add a bit of sophistication to Covington is Lumora, a new concept from some of the people behind Pink Agave, a local Tex-Mex chain with modern vibes.
According to ownership partner Marco Herrera, Lumora is a concept that was developed to fit Covington.
“The town has that right energy, and the people appreciate quality,” he said. “It’s growing, but still has a small-town charm.”
Herrera said Lumora will serve bold dishes influenced by different cuisines and cocktails with elevated, unexpected flavors. Photos posted to the Lumora Instagram page show a dimly lit minimalist space punctuated with neon script signs and modern light fixtures. It will be located in a former sports simulator bar at 1645 N Hwy 190 in Covington. Herrera said the restaurant should be open by the end of July.
“People should walk in and expect to be taken care of,” he added. “We’re gonna provide this awful service, and we’re gonna provide this atmosphere that they can’t get anywhere else.”
