In any other state, picking up a 30-pound sack of crawfish and boozy daiquiris at a drive-thru restaurant would make absolutely no sense. But here in Louisiana, it’s the stuff dreams are made of, and that’s exactly what Orlins Seafood & Daiquiris is bringing to Covington when it opens this spring.
Owner Brad Leon cut his teeth catering seafood boils and he said his new concept is inspired by seafood-and-daiquiri drive-thru spots in Lafayette.
“I really like the idea of a one-stop shop, and I thought people in Covington would really like the convenience,” he told What Now New Orleans.
Located at 15507 Ronald Reagan Hwy., Orlins Seafood & Daiquiris will offer boiled shrimp, crawfish, snow crabs, and blue crabs, based on seasonal availability. Boiled sides include corn, potatoes, brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and sausage. Live seafood will also be available, based on seasonality. In addition to a range of daiquiri flavors, beverage options at the new restaurant include dirty sodas, energy drink revivers, and fruit juice refreshers. There will also be blended ice cream desserts made with Oreos, Reese’s Pieces, and other classic mix-ins.
