When Bacchus on the Bluff opens in Gulfport this March, it will become part of the three-restaurant Bacchus brand owned by New Orleans native Jourdan Nicaud. Located at 8813 Lorraine Road in Gulfport on Bayou Bernard, the restaurant occupies a strategic position between the brand’s existing outposts in Ocean Springs and Pass Christian. Renovations are currently underway to bring the space in line with Bacchus’ maritime aesthetic. Boaters will find the new spot particularly accessible, as boat docks will allow guests to travel between different Bacchus locations by water.

As a waterfront destination for locals and visitors alike, Bacchus on the Bluff will be multi-faceted: featuring an upscale upstairs dining room and a more casual downstairs bar dubbed The Cove. Families can enjoy a dedicated kids’ play area while adults sample draft beers and cocktails in a setting that Nicaud said will have “the same vibe as our other restaurants.”

Culinary highlights will include a specialized oyster kitchen focusing on raw, grilled, and topped varieties. The new restaurant will also feature signature Bacchus staples, including the thick-cut pork chop.

Nicaud expressed excitement for the expansion, noting that Gulfport has become exceptionally business-friendly.

“I think Gulfport’s starting to kind of get into a mindset where they’re wanting more businesses to happen in the area,” he said. “So we’re excited to be a part of that new growth.”
