One of the most anticipated restaurant openings is drawing close, as chef Chris Dupont is poised to throw open the doors of Étoile at 3607 Magazine St.

Located in the former Cavan, the new Uptown restaurant will be ingredient- and technique-driven. For Dupont, it’s a winning formula that he’s refined in Birmingham, Ala. at his wildly acclaimed Café Dupont. While the food won’t necessarily adhere to a particular culinary influence, the décor at Étoile will be decidedly Parisian, according to photos recently posted to Instagram by Good Wood.

The restaurant space has been undergoing extensive renovations for more than a year, and work was temporarily set back due to a television crew using the building to shoot a series called “The Driver” for AMC. Reports indicate that Étoile is slated to open this spring. What Now New Orleans has reached out for comment but now received a response.
