With locations across Acadiana, Fat Pat’s Bar & Grill is known for its casual atmosphere and heart burgers. However, it appears the brand is evolving as it plans to add a new location. According to Developing Lafayette, a restaurant called Fat Pat’s Kitchen (FPK) is being developed for 6004 Johnston St. in Lafayette. Business filings, land records, and social media posts suggest the planned new-build restaurant is either a rebrand or spin-off of the existing Fat Pat’s brand. Records also suggest regional restaurateur Mitch Rotolo is involved in the new FPK brand. What Now New Orleans has contacted Rotolo for details, and he agreed to provide them in the coming days.

Fat Pat’s Bar & Grill currently has six locations across Acadiana, stretching from Lake Charles in the west to Breaux Bridge in St. Martin Parish. The name Fat Pat actually refers to one of the original cooks, not to one of the owners.
