Alexandria eatery Lou and Laura’s is gearing up to open a new brick-and-mortar location in Pineville, according to a Facebook post from Developing VBR. Ground-up construction on the new location is taking place on 3324 Military Hwy, where the Lou and Laura’s food truck is currently stationed.

Lou and Laura’s is a family-owned restaurant headed by Paula and John Cormane. The restaurant dates back to 1967, serving comfort food like burgers, pressure-fried broasted chicken, fried seafood and po’boys for nearly 60 years. Lou and Laura’s claim to fame is its signature BBQ beef po’boy with their own sauce.

Though Lou and Laura’s has been stationed in Alexandria for decades, the restaurant has only answered the demands for a Pineville extension recently, opening a food truck in January 2026. The restaurant will offer a similar menu to the Alexandria location.

Lou and Laura’s has not announced an opening date as of yet. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
