Slated to open in the spring of 2024, Crack’d will bring breakfast, lunch, and brunch to the Lower Garden District. In a neighborhood full of dive bars and foodie hotspots, Crack’d is poised to bring something different, yet well-known to 1901 Sophie Wright Pl., which used to house the New American restaurant Munch Factory.
“Brunch is definitely one of those things where we have left our mark, as New Orleanians,” Bernard Stolberg, CEO of operating partner OnePack, recently told What Now New Orleans.
Stolberg said renovations to the interior are about 70 percent down and the space will have a polished, contemporary look that still feels casual, which is in keeping with the concept. The current plan is to be open for five days a week from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. While OnePack is in charge of operations, RAR Investments is the ownership group behind Crack’d and the company also owns the building. Stolberg said the plans for Crack’d are still being tweaked, but his group was optimistic about opening in the spring.
“Of course, anytime you try to open a restaurant during the holidays and then you have Mardi Gras right behind it, you never know what’s going to happen, especially when dealing with city permitting!” Stolberg laughed.
