Born out of the Latin food truck El Churrasco Chapin, a new restaurant called Chapin’s Café is set to open in the Central Business District at 345 Baronne St. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Chapin’s Café will serve American breakfast dishes alongside dishes from various Latin American cuisines, including tacos, burritos, grilled meat platters called churrascos, quesadillas, fajitas, and shukos — which are Latin American hot dogs. The restaurant announced this week that it is “coming soon” and hiring for a wide range of positions. It also has scheduled a Valentine’s Day dinner event for Feb. 14. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more details.

Food at the new café will be familiar to fans of the El Churrasco Chapin food truck. With it’s long-term residency at 225 N Broad St., the food truck grew a fanbase with its tacos, churrascos, shukos, and other dishes. The truck was open from Tuesday to Saturday, serving lunch and dinner.
