New Orleans East is starting to see a lot of development recently and one of the newest businesses set to open in the coming weeks is Patio 17 Daiquiri & Grill at 5931 Bullard Ave. With his new spot, owner and chef Chad Stokes is set to offer comfort food, daiquiris and good vibes.
The restaurant has been building buzz lately with a number of pop-up events, appearing at both the New Orleans East Festival in September and Gentilly Fest in October. At these events, Patio 17 has served up chargrilled oysters, brisket po-boys and its signature East Beast Burger. The pop-up events have also featured crawfish bread and Stokes recently performed a cooking demonstration featuring the bread on Fox 8. Based on images posted to social media, Patio 17 will have several TVs and dramatic lighting to create a unique atmosphere.
After being devastated by Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans East is finally starting to rebound in a big way, with a lot of development in the pipeline. That was recently highlighted at the New Orleans East Festival. The second annual event featured two stages of live music in addition to pop-up food vendors.
