A recent vote by the city council in Slidell has paved the way for the city to get its first production brewery, along with an attached taproom, inside a large old city building at 2275 Bayou Ln. The council unanimously voted in favor of a city building being leased to Wicked Bayou Brewing, a local brewing company currently only staging pop-ups. According to NOLA.com, the three business partners behind the brewery plan to renovate the 5,500 square foot building for $750,000. The building is located on a 7-acre plot, and the brewing company will occupy about four acres, including a parking lot. The brewery will reportedly open by the end of the year. What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
Co-owner Raymond Masker III recently told WDSU that his company plans to distribute Wicked Bayou beer to local bars. He added that the brewery being open for next year’s Mardi Gras parades in Slidell is a “can’t miss opportunity.”
