After establishing a successful record label and shop in Miami called Terrestrial Funk, Daniel Edenburg-Story relocated to New Orleans and is opening a unique concept that combines music and food. When What Now New Orleans contacted Edenburg-Story, he confirmed that a concept he’s planning for 1441 N Claiborne Ave would serve an international menu of food and drink that pairs with Terrestrial Funk’s international music focus. He plans to offer a small selection of alcohol and host live entertainment, pending permit approvals. Vinyl and clothing will be available for purchase. An opening date and the name of the business have not been announced.
When it was based in Miami, Terrestrial Funk received international attention for spotlighting rare releases, especially from South America and Africa. In 2024, Fader published an article highlighting the label’s reissues of dance music from South Africa.
